About Buckeyes in
China
Our logo, three Buckeyes against the background of a map of Greater China, illustrates the fact that Buckeyes in China (BIC) is a network of Ohioans living, or working, in the three complementary regions of Greater China; Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In close association with
Ohio
State
University
Alumni
Association clubs located in
Shanghai,
Beijing,
Guangzhou,
Hong Kong and Taiwan,
the
network is
comprised of more than 1200 members.
The
OSU
club
in
Shanghai
is
called the
"Shanghai Buckeyes
Club."
BIC is proud to be one of the largest (USA/state-specific) networks of its kind in
Asia.
While many BIC members are alumni of the
Ohio
State
University,
and the clubs are chartered by the Ohio State University Alumni Association (OSUAA), all Ohioans, from any walk of life, are encouraged to join the network and, when applicable, participate in activities, events and networking that serve all Ohioans in Shanghai, and throughout Greater China.
BIC’s mission is also one of support to
Ohio
companies, organizations or institutions in need of perspective about business, education, relocation or travel in Greater China. BIC members, with vast business, social or government experience and expertise in Greater China, can provide all Ohioans with on-the-ground insight and support critical to improving
China
business-entry, education- or work-relocation, or travel-planning.
The communications hub of the network is its website www.buckeyesinchina.com. Accessing the website provides members,
Ohio
companies, governments and media access to one another while providing a forum to promote its members, their expertise and achievements in Greater China.
